Before you schedule your test, ensure you meet the following requirements:
What You Need:

Valid Texas Learner's Permit

ADE-1317 Completion Certificate

Completed IMPACT Texas Driving Course
​Note: If you've already processed your paperwork at the Texas DPS, bring your learner's permit and receipt from the DPS.​
If you're 18-24 and completed a minor driver education course (DE-964 Certificate), you must also complete the 2-hour IMPACT Texas Teen Drivers Education Course. Additionally, a parent or guardian must accompany you for the driving test. Note: All tests are conducted using the applicant’s vehicle.​

Test Information​:
Each test includes one retest, which must be completed within 14 days of the original test. A $25 service fee applies for rescheduling, cancellations, or no-shows.BCD Driving School is approved by the Texas DPS to administer the road test. The test is not part of the driver education course and must be scheduled separately. Tests are conducted by a state-certified examiner at BCD Driving School and last approximately 20 minutes.​
Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment with your vehicle. Test dates and times are subject to examiner availability. Important: BCD Driving School does not issue the actual driver’s license. After passing the test, you must visit a Texas DPS office to receive your license.
Requirements by Age Group
Teens (16-17 Years Old):

Complete a T.E.A.-approved Driver Education course and obtain a DE-964 or Parent Taught Driver Education Certificate.

Hold a valid permit for at least 6 months.

Be at least 16 years old.

Submit a completed 30-hour behind-the-wheel driving log (signed by the parent).

Provide a certificate for the Impact Texas Teen Driver (ITTD) course.

If under 18, provide a valid Verification of Enrollment (VOE) or high school diploma.

Proof of insurance for the vehicle used in the test.
Note: You do not have to be a BCD Driving School student to take the test here.
Young Adults (18-24 Years Old):

Complete a T.E.A.-approved Adult Driver Education course (6 hours) and receive an ADE form.

Hold a valid permit issued by the DPS.

Complete the Impact Driver (ITTD) course.

Provide proof of insurance for the vehicle used in the test.
Adults (25 Years and Older):

Hold a valid restricted license.

If required, provide proof of completion of an adult driver education course.

Complete the Impact Texas course and bring the certificate of completion.
All Applicants: On test day, bring all required documents, including eyewear (if needed) and a valid permit. No photocopies will be accepted. Failure to provide proper documentation will result in the test being canceled.
